Seven benefits of joining a creative challenge

If you want to develop a new skill, or just need motivation to create something new every day, I would highly recommend joining a creative challenge. There are many challenges on Instagram, if you do a little google search you can find one that suits you, if you need a tip, you will find one after the image gallery.

Seven reasons why I believe it’s a good thing for any creative, at any level, to join a creative challenge:

  1. You will develop new skills

  2. You will develop a habit of making time for creativity in your daily schedule

  3. You will have daily content to post on Social Media

  4. You will gain followers on Social Media

  5. You will loose your fear of the blank page

  6. You will be cured of any imposter syndrome, your art belongs out there!

  7. You will make new friends participating in the same challenge, by following, liking and commenting others content

As my previous blog posts demonstrates, I have recently participated in the Peachtober Challenge. I chose to make all the illustrations in Procreate, and after my first ten entries I narrowed it down to draw people, on each daily prompt. I have avoided drawing people, because I’ve never really landed on a way, of how to draw them in my style. So the last 21 days of the challenge I have drawn people ,and with that gotten rid of the fear of drawing them.

Here are all my 31 entries from newest to oldest:

Need a challenge tip for November?

My plan is to join the Doodle-a-Day Challenge.
